The Mayor and members of the Town Council in office upon the effective date of this Charter shall thereafter become the Mayor and members of the Town Council and shall serve as such for the remainder of the term for which they were elected. Upon the expiration of those terms, Councilmembers shall be elected as provided in this Charter. All references to the Town Council in any ordinance, resolution or regulation, contract or other documents shall be construed to include the Town Council after the effective date of this Charter.
