The Town Council shall appoint one (1) of its Councilmembers as Mayor Pro Tem at the first meeting following each election, who shall act as Mayor during the absence of the Mayor with all powers herein granted to the Mayor. Such appointment shall be made by a majority of the Councilmembers present constituting a quorum. If the office of Mayor Pro Tem becomes vacant, then the Town Council shall appoint a new Mayor Pro Tem at its next regular meeting. (Amended January 17, 2019)
