Each Councilmember and the Mayor shall be a qualified elector of the Town and shall be a resident for at least twelve (12) months of an area that is within the Town as of the date of election and during his or her entire tenure in office. Neither any Councilmember nor the Mayor shall be a paid employee of the Town, nor shall they apply for any employment position with the Town while in office. The term of any Councilmember or the Mayor shall terminate when he or she no longer resides in the boundaries of the Town of Parachute, or is convicted of a felony, or of any misdemeanor offense for abuse of public office.
