This section is included in your selections.

It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, remove, convert, demolish, equip, use, occupy or maintain any building or structure in the Town, or cause or permit the same to be done, contrary to or in violation of any of the provisions of the IBC.

Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of the IBC shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day or portion thereof during which any violation of any of the provisions of the IBC is committed, continued or permitted. Any offense under this section shall be deemed one of “strict liability.” Violation of the IBC shall constitute a Class B municipal offense, as provided in PMC 11.01.030.

The issuance or granting of a permit or approval of plans and specifications shall not be deemed or construed to be a permit for, or an approval of, any violation of the provisions of the IBC. No permit presuming to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of the IBC shall be valid, except insofar as the work or use, which it authorized, is lawful.

The issuance or granting of a permit or approval of a plan shall not prevent the administrative authority from thereafter requiring the correction of errors in said plans and specifications or from preventing construction operations from being carried on thereunder when in violation of the IBC or any other ordinance or from revoking any certificates of approval when issued in error. (Ord. 793 §2 (Exh. A), 2021)
